Our Giving
Our Giving
(Temple 12/16/2018) We’re seeing the Lord through the eyes of Isaiah. We’re seeing the Lord who fulfills the predictions of the prophets concerning the Messiah, who would establish a kingdom that would last forever. In our quest we find priceless jewels of faith in the blessed chest of Holy Scriptures.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The 2018 Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is underway. I am excited, in my first Lottie Moon season as IMB President, to place a challenge before you and your churches: Let's make this the biggest Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in history!
When you and your church give through LMCO, you are a part of reaching the unreached in every nation. In fact, through Southern Baptist giving to LMCO just last year, we've seen God do amazing things:
The ninth chapter of Isaiah began with a prophecy of people walking in darkness seeing a great Light. We live in a world of people who walk in darkness today. They do not see the Light. Yet the Light is all around them if they would just look with eyes of faith.

The Father Has Given to Us.
The Father Has Given to Us.
This year, let's once again make LMCO a priority in our churches and, by God's grace, see those numbers rise exponentially. In the slums and cities, in the jungles and on the plains, in the provinces and on the plateaus, there are billions waiting to be reached, and the Lord of the harvest has called us to the fields. To the fields we must go. Let's go!
Dr. Paul Chitwood
President
Our Heavenly Father has given us His Son. “a son is given.:
The Son is Wonderful.
The Son is Counsellor.
The Son is the mighty God.
The Son is everlasting Father.
The Son is Prince of Peace.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Our Heavenly Father has given us grace.
Our Heavenly Father has given us grace.
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
The Son Has Given.
The Son Has Given.
The Son Has Given.
The Son has given His life.
The Son has given His life.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
The Son has given us life.
The Son has given us life. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
The Father Has Given to the Son
The Father Has Given to the Son
The Father has given the Son all power and authority.
The Father Has Given to the Son.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
The Father has given the Son all power and authority. .
The Father has given the Son a Name above all names.
The Father has given the Son a Name above all names.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.
The Father has given the Son a seat on the throne of heaven at the right hand of the Father.
The Son is at the right hand of the Father.
The Father Has Given Us the Spirit
The Father Has Given Us the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is with us.
The Holy Spirit is in every believer.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
The Holy Spirit produces the love, joy, and peace of God. The Spirit produces the hope of glory.
The Holy Spirit produces the love, joy, and peace of God. The Spirit produces the hope of glory.
The Holy Spirit Gives Us gifts of the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit Gives Us gifts of the Spirit.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
We Give to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We Give to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In this season we emphasize giving.
It is more blessed to give than to receive.
The magi gave gold, frankincense, and myrrh, which represent the titles of Jesus spoken by the angel the night He was born.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Myrrh is fitting for a Savior who gives His life for the sheep.
Myrrh is fitting for a Savior who gives His life for the sheep.
Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
John 19:39
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
Frankincense is fitting for the Christ, our Great High Priest.
Frankincense is fitting for the Christ, our Great High Priest.
Gold is fitting for the Lord of lords and King of kings!
Dr. Paul Chitwood, our new President of the IMB, sent us this word of encouragement:

Because God gave, the giving goes on and on and on. An appropriate Christmas verse is
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. As we take up our tithes and offerings today, this is also our last week of LOFJ for the year. Let us give freely and generously as God as given to us.
